  • Do I need a visa in India, Nepal Bhutan & Sri-Lanka

    India Visa All visitors need to obtain visa for India prior to arrival, except citizens of those countries eligible for the visa on arrival scheme.
    The Indian government introduced an Indian tourist visa on arrival scheme on January 1, 2010. It was initially trialed for citizens of five countries. Subsequently, a year later, it was extended to include a total of eleven countries.
    Who is Eligible for an Indian Visa on Arrival?
    Currently, the facility is offered to citizens of the following countries:
    Finland, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, Laos, Myanmar and Indonesia
    Visitors can get a Tourist Visa on arrival with a maximum validity of 30 days with single entry facility by the Immigration officer at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata Airports and NOT in any other Immigration Check Posts (ICPs).
    Nepal Visa The visa policy of Nepal is relatively liberal, allowing citizens of almost all nations to obtain a tourist visa on arrival in Nepal.
    With the exception of eleven countries, every foreign national can obtain a tourist visa on arrival in Nepal. There is a choice of multiple entry visas for 15, 30 or 90 days. All citizens of SAARC member states are granted a tourist visa for 30 days at no cost.
    Citizens of the following countries are required Nepal visa before arrival:
    Afghanistan, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iraq, Liberia, Nigeria, Palestinian territories, Somalia, Swaziland and Zimbabwe
    Bhutan Visa You require your passport with a validity of at least six months following the date of your arrival to Bhutan and a visa to enter and exit Bhutan. All visas are approved from Thimphu and are only issued to tourists booked with a local licensed tour operator directly or through a foreign travel agent. Applications for tourist visas will only be submitted by your tour operator. All visitors, including those on official U.S. government business, jaipur escorts must obtain visa clearance from Thimphu before coming to Bhutan. Visa clearance takes at least 10 days to process and air tickets to Bhutan cannot be purchased without visa clearance. At your point of entry into Bhutan, immigration authorities will stamp a visa into your passport upon payment of USD 40.     Sri-Lanka Visa Visitors visiting Sri-Lanka for a short time (even less than 30 days) required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). The ETA initially limited to 30 days stay in Sri Lanka from the date of arrival, although it may be extended for up to three months from the Department of Immigration & Emigration, in Sri Lanka by paying the relevant extension fee.

    Acknowledgement will receive within 24 hours and confirmation will receive within 3 working days. Sri-Lanka tourist visa will be valid for 30 days only.

  • When is my holiday actually confirmed ?

    Once you receive our confirmation along with the invoice and made the deposit payment your holidays is confirmed. We will send you additional information on receipt of the deposit.

  • How can I pay for my holiday ?

    Select India Holidays (P) Ltd. offers payment by the following methods:
    On-line credit card payments: We are currently implementing our Internet Payment Gateway which will be able to accept Visa and Mastercard.
    Bank transfers: You can send us the payment by wire transfer, the sender have to bear both side bank charges.

  • What if I have to cancel my holiday ?

    We expect our clients to take their holiday bookings as seriously as we do. However recognize that holidays are occasionally cancelled for valid reasons. Our cancellation charges in our booking conditions apply, at our discretion, in case we cannot recover payments and admin costs committed on your behalf. In most cases it would be possible to postpone your travel dates and reschedule your holiday with a nominal supplement or without any additional charges.

  • Do you promote only certain hotels ?

    We have our choices based on character, level or service and the prices offered. We also constantly evaluate new properties and add those to our choice of hotels from time to time. We also Endeavour to rotate our choice of hotels so that all those concerned get bookings from us. However if you have a choice of hotel we do not have any problem to book the same for you. In all cases we always negotiate the best price and offer you accordingly.

  • Why do you advise "book early?

    If you are planning your trip during the peak period or so, especially during November, December January and february, then we suggest to all our clients to make bookings at least 4 – 6 months prior to arrival to get the best price as well as base room category at the preferred hotels and cheapest airfare too.

  • I have a medical condition that may need special assistance during my tour. What should I do?

    Please inform us well in advance of any condition you may have any specific information from your doctor. We will then advice you accordingly and make the necessary arrangements for your holiday accordingly. We will not be responsible for any medical condition that may hinder your enjoyment during the tour.

  • Why we have not received the hotel & other service vouchers? Is our booking confirmed?

    Do not worry, your services is confirmed once advance paid, we always give you welcome kit which contain Hotel voucher, ground service voucher and other optional activities if confirmed along with the Air Ticket, Train Tickets etc.

  • Can I drive my own car in India?

    In general we don’t recommend you drive in India unless you have previous experience driving in this part of the world. Driving in India will be totally different then in your country.

  • Will we be met at the airport ?

    Yes our company’s representative will meet you at the airport on arrival with a pla card of your name and then will escort you till your hotel for check in assistance.

  • If I book a car and driver only, will I be hassled to make excursions or shopping trips?

    Do no worry, you will enjoy your trip if you book only transport from our company, our drivers take care of your need and respect your decision for an additional excursion within the city and shopping etc. If your guidelines are not adhered then please do call us immediately to take action further.

  • Select India Holidays recommend any shopping outlets?

    We generally do not recommend any shops or outlets but our chauffeurs / Guides generally will take you to shops that are registered with the Indian Tourism. Please retain all receipts of purchase as this is the only document you have if you need to make a claim of any sort.

  • Can I change my itinerary when I am India?

    Yes, The tour itinerary can be changed during the tour, the change in tour itinerary may incur a surcharge.

  • I have heard that return flights have to be reconfirmed when we are in India, is this true?

    The majority of airlines including Indian Airlines do not require reconfirmation.

  • What if people need to contact me in an emergency when I’m in India?

    Our chauffeurs / Guides can be reached via mobile phone and the hotels where you will be staying too will have telephone facilities. We advise to leave a copy of our contact numbers with your family prior to departure. If we receive any message then we will passon to you immediately.

  • I’m looking for a low-season holiday to obtain the best prices. At what time of year can I find the best deals ?

    Traveling during the summer (April till September) is the best times to enjoy the off season rates. During this period you will may enjoy staying in 5* Luxury Hotels at a price of 5 Star Hotels.

  • What do you advise about money ?

    Credit cards are accepted in all the hotels and in the supermarkets. The country also has a very good ATM network with Cirrus, Maestro and Plus debit cards usable at almost all ATM’s. The general withdrawal limit is USD 300 Per Day with some ATM’s offering upto USD 500 per day.
    All currency that is legal tender is readily accepted and can be changed in most money changers. Travellers’ cheques can only be encashed at banks but the process is time consuming and some may also have an upper limit to the amount you can encash in one day.
    Our personal advice is to carry a small amount of cash and use your debit and credit cards for all transactions.
